Who We Are

Together with citizen scientists, Wild Salmon Count conducts annual salmon counts. We share our findings with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, First Nations, universities and other organizations that are working to understand and protect BC’s wild salmon.

This August and September, we will be counting salmon in 12 streams on BC’s Central Coast (near Cape Caution and Westcott Point). This is the traditional territory of the Gwa'sala and ‘Nakwaxda’xw First Nations.

We are looking for people to join our count and visit one of the most beautiful areas of the country.

Join the Count

Join us for the 2018 wild salmon count!

For four days and three nights, you will live aboard a Wild Salmon Count boat and spend your days counting salmon, learning about the area from local guides, fishing and exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia. All meals are provided.
